Laura Patkotak

Laura Patkotak is the President of the Arctic Slope Community Foundation Board of Directors. She is the daughter of Jim Pederson-Adams and Molly Pederson of Barrow, Alaska.

Ms. Patkotak is also board secretary for Utqaiġvigmiut Agviqsuiqtit Aġnanich, the Barrow-based whaling captain’s wife auxiliary, a group dedicated to supporting an active subsistence-based traditional lifestyle.  Ms. Patkotak is also active with the Barrow Volunteer Fire Department and serves as lieutenant of an ambulance crew for the North Slope Borough Fire Department. In addition, she’s Secretary for the Nanook Chapter of the Alaska State Fire Fighters Association.

Ms. Patkotak is the whaling captain’s wife of Barrow’s Patkotak Crew. Laura and her husband Crawford have been married for 24 years.
