Applying for Grants

The first step in learning if grant support is available from the Arctic Slope Fund is to thoroughly review these Grantmaking Guidelines. Please ensure all fields are completed.  If the information requested does not pertain to your organization, please mark the field with “N/A” or “None.”

The following section describes requirements for all grant requests:

Grant Requests up to $9,999

Complete and sign a grant application cover sheet;

Try and limit narrative to no more than 2 pages, please discuss the following:

  • Description and brief history of the organization
  • Amount and nature of request
  • How the contribution will be used
  • Your target audience or beneficiaries
  • Benefit to the community
  • Include a list of your organization’s current Board of Directors
  • List the percentage of board members who financially support the organization
  • Statement discussing outcomes or results of the program to date

Grant Requests from $10,000 to $24,999

Include all of the above items, and in addition:

  • List any additional sources of funding for the project.
  • Complete an itemized Project Budget Form 

Grants over $25,000

Before submitting a proposal, organizations requesting over $25,000 should send a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to determine ASCF’s interest.  
The LOI should include the following information:

  • A brief description of the program or service,
  • The amount being requested,
  • A completed Grant Application Cover Sheet.
